Elected chairman of Gwagwalada Area Council in the 21 February 2026 Federal Capital Territory Area Council election conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). His election was upheld on appeal by the FCT election appeal tribunal in July 2026.
