Elected chairman of Kurmi Local Government Area in the 8 November 2025 local government election conducted by the Taraba State Independent Electoral Commission on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which ran unopposed. Taraba's council chairmen moved with Governor Agbu Kefas from the PDP to the APC. He was re-elected for a second term and chairs the Taraba chapter of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON).
