In his Independence Day message, the FCT minister said bus terminals built in AMAC will be extended to Kuje, Bwari and Gwagwalada.

FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has urged residents of the Federal Capital Territory to use the 2027 general elections to choose leaders who will sustain and expand infrastructure development in the territory, News Central reports.

In his Independence Day message on Thursday, Wike said the FCT Administration had improved roads linking the city centre with rural communities, many fitted with drainage and solar-powered streetlights. He said new bus terminals had been built in the Abuja Municipal Area Council, and that Kuje, Bwari and Gwagwalada would get similar ones.

He said access to healthcare and education was being expanded across the six area councils, and that surveillance, community policing and technology were being used against crime.

"As the nation prepares for the forthcoming general elections in January 2027, I enjoin you all to see it as an opportunity to vote in progressive, visionary leaders," the minister said. He also asked residents to obey the law, protect public infrastructure from vandalism and live together peacefully.
