The budget gives N637.85bn to capital projects, while 2026 capital spending stood at 26.57% of its allocation by late August.

Governor Dikko Radda of Katsina State signed a N828.58 billion 2027 budget into law on Wednesday, Premium Times reports.

According to the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Nasir Daura, the approved budget includes N637.85 billion for capital expenditure and N190.73 billion for recurrent spending, or 76.98 per cent and 23.02 per cent of the total. Radda said its priorities came from consultations across the state's 361 wards in 34 local government areas, and directed agencies to carry out projects on time.

The signed total is N60 million below the N828,638,844,091.48 proposal the state executive council approved in August, and the government's statement gave no reason for the gap.

Spending under the current budget has been slow. Premium Times previously reported that by 28 August, Katsina had spent N193.02 billion, or 26.57 per cent, of its N726.30 billion capital allocation for 2026, and 32.88 per cent of the overall budget. Radda has said he expects spending to rise as projects near completion.
