At an APC prayer rally in Abeokuta, the governorship candidate predicted victory, while a cleric urged campaigns free of hate speech.
Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State, has said the party will face no real opposition in the 2027 governorship election, Vanguard reports.
Speaking at an APC interfaith prayer and praise concert at Ake Palace Ground, Abeokuta, Adeola said opposition parties were struggling with internal problems. "On February 6, 2027, there will be nobody, because they are all partyless," he said. He predicted victory for President Bola Tinubu on 16 January and for himself as the state's 17th governor.
Governor Dapo Abiodun said the gathering was held to commit the party's 2027 journey to God, and expressed confidence in a smooth transition to an incoming governor.
The Regional Evangelist of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Johnson Kalejaiye, urged parties and their supporters in the state to avoid campaigns of calumny and hate speech that could lead to violence. Former governor Olusegun Osoba was among those present.
