Member of the Kano State House of Assembly for Rimin Gado/Tofa constituency, first elected in 2023 on the NNPP platform and elected Deputy Speaker in June 2023. His election was annulled and he won the rerun of 3 February 2024, after which he was sworn in again and returned as Deputy Speaker on 19 February 2024. Defected from the NNPP to the APC in January 2026.
